WPLL Opening Day (Saturday, April 30th) is almost here! While not all of our teams have officially scheduled events, we are hoping that most everyone can try and make it out to participate!
In particular, we are asking as many of our players who can make it to be at the complex by 11:45, with their WPLL jerseys on! We plan on doing a sponsor thank-you and taking a large aerial photo of all the kids and sponsors starting at noon on Field 3. Would be nice to have as many of our 700 kids as we possibly can on-site to show support for the sponsors who help make this league possible!
Here is a summary of the day:
- WPLL games (and some practices) scheduled during two blocks:
- 10:00 – 12:00 (end at 11:45)
- 1:00 – 3:00
- Food options include
- WPLL Concession stand open beginning at 10:00…featuring Buddy’s Pizza!
- Ice Cream truck from Schultz Treat Street on-site all day!
- Special Guests
- Kalamazoo Growler’s mascot Porter on-site beginning at noon
- Michigan State Police on-site from 10:00 – 11:00 handing out goodies
- Portage Fire Department on-site with a Fire Truck handing out goodies
- Numerous WPLL sponsors on-site, some handing out goodies, including foundational sponsor Grabowski Orthodontics, which will have water bottles and cooling towels for kids in uniforms!
